Well as I am in the same situation now,I'll tell what I'm Doing.

1)Make sure all the concepts are clear - for this I think NCERT is the best for physics.
2)For concepts of Chemistry I feel JPNP is better.
3)For  mathematics R.D Sharma is good.
4)Later go for problem solving.
This is a tricky part,Just solving problems mechanically is useless.
Solve different types of problems and solve them subjectively i.e Not MCQ's.
For this purpose the books of reputed coaching organization helps.I was a base student and it helps  a lot.
Pick problems which involves multiple concepts together,This way you can learn many concepts clearly in a short time.
Such problems are picked out for you in the materials provided by coaching institutes.

See the solution only after you have exhausted all the possible ways that you can think of.
Avoid seeing the solution as much as you can.

The subjects are very vast and  beautiful, try avoid researching and going out of syllabus. You'll have time for it later.

Many don't learn derivations and only memorize the formulas,I suggest not doing that.
Derivations make the concept clear.

As of now Board Exam is equally important.Don't even dare to ignore it.

Solving previous papers is very important.Without doing this your preparation is incomplete.Try to solve the papers well within 3hours.Again don't solve mechanically learn from each  and every mistake.

Your attitude is not right.
This is my second time attempting for mains. My experience and advice states this:
1)Friend No 1 aimed for advanced got a really good score in mains(240) and BIT SAT(330) and also got around  3K in advance.
2)Friend No 2 aimed for Mains got an OK score in both Mains(170) and BIT SAT(270) but did not qualify for advanced. But Got a really good CET rank(517). Another one same thing ,got a good rank in cet(1729).
3)Me aimed for only cet, did not qualify in mains and got a very bad rank in cet also(9765).

Therefore aim for the highest possible target.
It is like -Aim for the moon you'll at least land up with the stars.

Mains is not very difficult.

If you are in Bangalore contact me and i can share with you the coaching materials.

This advice comes from the mistakes I made.
So in the time you have , learning from mistakes is very important.
